    Autumn Colour 2020

    in What's in Your Garden?

The tree colours are stunning at the moment. This Liquidambar styraciflua 'Worplesdon‘,

growing in my garden is about 8 years old and 6 metres tall at a guess. The colour is almost a straight red but apparently it can also be purple, green or yellow. Beautiful! Mine is shooting straight up but it will become more rounded with age.

Chinese Pistachio (Pistacia Chinensis) is a tough and reliable tree that always gives a beautiful display in autumn.

Yes, I love these too but unfortunately in our garden, so do the possums. For the past 2 years they have feasted on the new shoots as fast as they grow. One tree is now dead and the other stunted to bush height. 😪
